Comprehensive CFD Simulation and Optimization of a Cyclone
This project was performed in 2006 for optimization of a cyclone collection efficiency. Cyclones are widely used in different industries for filtration. This technology is based on the centrifugal force applied to the suspended particles. At the first step a precise model was produced and a structured mesh with boundary layer growth was generated. After primary simulations, the effect of various geometric parameters on collection efficiency was studied and an optimum cyclone was designed. With comprehensive studies on cyclone efficiencies, filtration knowledge using CFD simulations was developed in Arya Alborz Company.
